What Blue Spring is
Blue spring is an internationally approved place and it supplies 60% of New Zealand’s bottled water. As you can see from the picture in this article, its water is very clear and super pure. The spring is so beautiful and incredibly clear and the water takes up to 100 years.
There is a track alongside the Waihou River that leads you to the spring and it takes one hour and a half each way from White Road (State highway 28). If you are lazy to walk one hour and a half, of cause there is another option for you. That only takes 15 minutes to get to the spring each way from nearby Leslie Road. It’s much shorter, isn’t it?
Where Blue Spring is located
I went to Blue Spring on the way home from Raglan. Raglan is a famous place for a surfing spot and there are big waves that surfers love. It took one hour and a half by car.
When I arrived at Blue Spring my first impression of the spring was such a nice air and river are there. The air was thoroughly pure. Then we walked along the river to get to see the spring. One hour after we walked there was a sign of where we were and that suggested it will take another hour to get the spring so we decided to go back to where we come from before it’s getting dark. We really wanted to see the spring but we hadn’t expected it would take so long. I really want to go to the spring again and next time we will get to see the spring. I think we still saw the beautiful river and were able to see where New Zealand’s pure water come from. That was a good experience because I have never seen that kind of river in Japan. I am getting fallen in love with NZ’s nature.
