What is Old Melbourne Gaol¥

Old Melbourne Gaol is one of the best place to visit in Melbourne I think. I went there when I was in the city for learning about English for three months. That was one of the most interesting experiences I had in Australia. I experienced role playing as a prisoner. The woman who was role played as a police officer shouted us suddenly, then we realised we were arrested. We had to role play as prisoners. Her voice was incredibly loud that really scared us. After role playing, we could explore inside of the place. I had never seen inside of a jail so it was a nice experience for me. I highly recommend you to go to the place and experience the role playing. That may make your journey of Melbourne more fun. The city has a lot of place to visit and see beautiful traditional buildings. 

How to get to Old Melbourne Gaol.

You can go there by a tram that takes you about 15 minutes from Flinders Street station. You are able to take a tram which is number 19, 57 and 59 whichever you want. You’ll ride 3 stops from Flinders Street station to Elizabeth St/La Trobe St, and then you need to walk about 7 minutes to get to the place. 

What the place is.

The goal has a lot of rooms that was used for prisoners long years ago. The place was bigger than I expected. I did not expect that the inside of the jail was like that. Lots of people were visiting to the place and learning about some history about the jail from a guide. I recommend going there to have some experiences and Melbourne has lots of good cafes as well.
